Shehu Sani, a former Senator representing Kaduna Central, has
issued a cautionary message to Nigerians regarding the N8,000 palliative
offered by President Bola Tinubu's administration.
In his statement, Sani advised Nigerians to approach the
acceptance of the N8,000 with prayerful consideration. He expressed concern
that individuals who previously received the supposedly enchanted N10,000
during former President Muhammadu Buhari's tenure ultimately found themselves
trapped in poverty.
In a tweet, Shehu Sani expressed his concerns, stating,
"People who collected Buhari's 'jazzed' 10k ended up in deeper poverty.
Pray before you collect the next 8k." This comes as President Bola Tinubu
announced his intention to provide N8,000 to 12 million impoverished households
across the country.
According to Tinubu's plan, the funds will be transferred to
these vulnerable Nigerians within the span of six months. The President's
proposal was outlined in a letter to the House of Representatives regarding the
$800 million loan request for the social safety net program. Sani urged the
House to ensure the loan is secured.
